Application of new teams

The Rochdale Online Alliance Football League is again looking for clubs interested in joining one of the few remaining localised Saturday afternoon leagues in the North West for the forthcoming season 2012-13.

The expansion of the much wider geographically based Lancashire Amateur and Lancashire & Cheshire Leagues has seen the demise of several historically strong leagues in the North West in the past decade but the Rochdale Alliance continues to defy that trend, currently servicing twenty eight teams across three highly competitive divisions.

f you are looking for a high standard of football without a significant travel time commitment then contact the League Secretary at mikewillmore@me.com for further information and an initial application pack.

Colours

There have been an increasing number of instances recently of clubs playing in colours that have not been registered with the league. In the worst example of its kind the away team changed colours having realised there would be a clash only to find there was still a clash because the home team wore a kit that was not registered with the league.
The attention of all clubs is drawn to League Rule 9 (A) :

“Every club must register the colour of its shirts and shorts with
the League Secretary by 1st July each year … any team not being
able to play in its normal colours as registered with the
competition shall notify the colours in which they will play to
its opponents at least 3 days before the match … if, in the opinion
of the referee, two clubs have the same, or similar, colours the
away team shall make the change … any team not having a change
of colours or delaying the kick off … shall be fined £10 …”

and also League Rule 9 (B) :

“Any club wishing to change its colours must obtain permission
from the Management Committee … any team not playing in the
colours with which they are registered with the competition shall
be fined £10 per offence …”

Please check the website and inform the League Secretary without further delay if any detail is incorrect. Fines will follow if this rule continues to be flouted.
